IFRIS\u2019 potential can thus also be appreciated through the quality of its inclusion within academic networks and communities, especially on an international scale.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">IFRIS hosts the European Network of Indicator Designers (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.enid-europe.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">ENID<\/a>) created in December 2008, and is a member of it, as an organization. One of IFRIS\u2019 members, Philippe Lar\u00e9do, is the president of ENID.<br \/>\nENID brings together various organizations and individuals who are active in the field of science and technology indicators at a European and international level, and whose objective is to promote cooperation.<br \/>\nIn conjunction with Universit\u00e9 Paris-Est Marne-la-Vall\u00e9e and the CNAM, IFRIS organized the third conference of ENID, entitled <em>Series of conferences <\/em><em>on STI Indicators<\/em><em>.<\/em> This event took place in Paris from 3 to 5 March 2010.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">IFRIS is also a founding member of the European consortium (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.euspri-forum.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Eu-SPRI<\/a> &#8211; European Forum for Studies of Policies for Research and Innovation), to which many European research centres are affiliated. Created in 2010, this consortium is dedicated to the promotion of periodical gatherings of academic researchers and the maintenance of one of the assets\u00a0 of the PRIME network of excellence, which is the capacity to collectively determine the field\u2019s research agenda in the medium term and in the long term. IFRIS had the pleasure of hosting the launch of the Eu-SPRI Forum, which took place at the CNAM on 8 June 2010.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Participation in the research networks financed by the European Commission<\/h3>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>PRIME, Network of Excellence 6<sup>th<\/sup> Framework Programme (FP6) for Research and Technological Development (contact: Philippe Lar\u00e9do)<\/li>\n<li>DIME, Network of Excellence FP6 (contact: Benjamin Coriat)<\/li>\n<li>MIRA, Coordination Action, INCO-Net initiative FP7 (contact: Rigas Arvanitis)<\/li>\n<li>AUGUR, collaborative research project, cooperation programme on the theme \u201cSocio-economic sciences and humanities\u201d, FP7 (contact: Pascal Petit)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Participation in the \u201cScience in Society\u201d National Thematic Group<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the invitation of the French Ministry of Research and Higher Education, IFRIS is directly involved in the \u201cScience in Society\u201d National Thematic Group (NTG) <i>(Groupe Th\u00e9matique Nationale \u2013 GTN)<\/i>. Within the framework of implementation of the 7<sup>th<\/sup> Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development (2007-2013), the NTG affords opportunities for French actors of research to meet and interact with the authorities, with a view to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">allowing the French representatives in the programme committees and in the ministerial authorities to inform French researchers about the measures taken and the activities put in place by the European Commission within the field of \u201cScience in Society\u201d<\/li>\n<li>collecting the opinions of these actors, and, together, preparing these elements so that a French position can be established during the preparation and implementation of the Framework Programme, in the field of \u201cScience in Society\u201d<\/li>\n<li>exchanging any information concerning the running of the programme and research projects that may be useful to the actors of research and the ministerial authorities<\/li>\n<li>analysing French participation in the FP and making all the proposals that may improve it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Click <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eurosfaire.prd.fr\/7pc\/sis\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> to read the \u201cScience in Society\u201d information letter of the National Contact Point.<\/p>\n<h3>Participation in associations, disciplinary scientific societies, etc.<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The Society for Social Studies of Science \u2013 4S<\/li>\n<li>The European Association for the Study of Science and Technology \u2013 EASST (contact: Pierre-Beno\u00eet Joly)<\/li>\n<li>Science and Democracy Network \u2013 SDN (contact: Pierre-Beno\u00eet Joly)<\/li>\n<li>European Association for Evolutionary Political Economy \u2013 EAEPE (contact: Pascal Petit)<\/li>\n<li>Consortium of Higher Education Researchers \u2013 CHER (contact: Christine Musselin)<\/li>\n<li>European Research and Higher Education Doctoral Studies \u2013 Euredocs (contact: Christine Musselin)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Years of research have shown that science is produced within networks.
