2022 STS Summer School on “Expertise, Trust and Democracy” is now open!

The STS Summer School @ Harvard is an opportunity for doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers and young professionals to gain intensive training in STS concepts and methods.
Students will spend the week interacting closely with distinguished international STS faculty members and researchers. The first half of the week will involve lectures, case analysis and small-group discussions, along with visits from leading policy practitioners. In the second half students will be exposed to cutting-edge research at the Science and Democracy Network’s annual meeting, the premier STS event examining questions of expertise in contemporary democracies.
When and Where?
The STS Summer The STS Summer School will be held in person July 24-30, 2022 at Harvard University. Accepted students will be required to attend daily lectures and discussion sessions, as well as respond to research presentations as part of the annual Science and Democracy Network annual meeting.
Who should apply?
We invite applications from graduate students and postdocs in science and technology studies (STS) and related fields, as well as from young professionals in the tech industry, public policy and the media. Applications should demonstrate a strong interest in investigating the interconnections between science, technology and society.
Cost
Cost of attendance to the STS Summer School is free. Accepted students will have their food and lodging covered for the week of the Summer School. They will be responsible for their own travel costs to and from Cambridge.
