Présentation :

De profondes transformations affectent les systèmes de recherche dans le monde entier. Nous assistons à l’émergence d’organismes nouveaux ou restructurés pour orienter la recherche publique ou promouvoir l’innovation, à de nouvelles orientations programmatiques au sein de ces organismes, à un financement accru consacré à la recherche en milieu universitaire et à de nouveaux partenariats et collaborations nationaux et internationaux. Une multiplicité d’organisations et de sources de financement sont apparues, créant un réseau complexe où les ressources circulent avec les connaissances de manière à remodeler les systèmes de recherche dans le Sud.

Cet ouvrage rassemble un large échantillon de ces changements présentés lors d’un symposium organisé par le CRDI, l’IRD, l’IFRIS et l’OCDE, dans le but de mieux comprendre leurs moteurs institutionnels, politiques et économiques. Ces cas documentent le renforcement des capacités scientifiques et l’utilisation plus large des résultats de la recherche scientifique et présentent des leçons pour les politiques publiques. Une grande variété d’études de cas d’organismes de recherche spécifiques et d’analyses comparatives du système de recherche au sens large sont présentées en Asie, en Afrique et en Amérique latine.
